Embroiderers' Guild Graduate Selection
Each year the Embroiderers' Guild selects a number of graduates to exhibit their work as part in the Graduate Showcase usually at the Knitting & Stitching Shows in London, Dublin and Harrogate. Graduates are selected by a specialist team – all professionals in the world of textiles and embroidery – who visit the various graduation shows to find the best new talent for the Guild to support. The selected graduates are then invited to be part of the showcase which gives them an opportunity to bring their work to the attention of a much wider audience.
In past years the Showcase has brought together some of the most inspiring and original talent coming out of the universities and colleges with textile degrees. Much of the work focused on fashion, perhaps a reflection of the economic climate, balanced by plenty of experimentation with mixed media.
The principal shows visited by the Guild are:
New Designers (Part 1) – Business Design Centre, London
Windsor School of Textile Art – South Hill Park Arts Centre, Bracknell
Manchester School of Art – All Saints Campus, Manchester
Glasgow School of Art – 167 Renfrew Street, Glasgow
Central Saint Martins – King’s Cross, London
Eastleigh College – Desborough Road Campus, Eastleigh
Details of past and current Guild Graduates will be made available on our new website which is currently in development.
